Kevan Short MRICS
Prior to founding K. Short & Co. in 1992 Kevan has worked in surveying practices including Maynard & Co. in Sheffield, Henry Butcher & Co. in Leeds, West Yorkshire County Council, Eddisons in Leeds as a junior Partner and was the managing Partner of King & Co. in Leeds.  He qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 1980.

He has accumulated over 35 years of experience in the commercial property industry involved in Property Aqcuisition and Disposals, Rent Review and Lease Renewal advice, valuations incuding for asset values and insurance purposes, business rates advice including completing appeals and appearing at Valuation Tribunals, Dilapidations advice, Agency and Development advice and acting as expert witness including experience of attending Court.

Kevan's key achievements have been principal surveying advisor for the aqcuisition work and original bid for the Trinity Walk retail scheme in Wakefield, advising Arriva on the development of the new Wakefield Bus Station and acting for several landowners in connection with the Wakefield Waterfront development which now features the Hepworth Gallery.

Kevan is now retired as a surveyor but remains a partner in the firm.
Andrew Short BSc (Hons) RICS Dip Arb  MRICS  FCI Arb

Andrew graduated with a 2:1 Honours Degree in Business Property Management from Sheffield Hallam University in 2008.

During his degree he spent 13 months working for the Strategic Property team at Peterborough City Council doing a variety of work including agency, landlord & tenant advice, management, dilapidations/condition surveys and development work.

After graduating he joined Storeys:ssp in Leeds primarily engaged in business rates advice on a wide variety of properties for clients including Lloyds TSB, Handlesbanken, Ashtenne Industrial Fund and Cooplands Bakery but also gained some experience in valuations, agency and landlord & tenant advice.

In June 2011 Andrew left Storeys:ssp and joined Kevan as a Partner at K. Short & Co. where he completed his RICS training and qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in April 2013.  He is also an RICS Registered Valuer.  

Recently Andrew has successfully completed the RICS Diploma in Arbitration Course, a Level 7 qualification, and has joined the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators as a Fellow.

Andrew is able to advise on a wide variety of work including agency, rent reviews, lease renewals, building inspections for condition surveys or dilapidations, valuations and is able to act as an Arbitrator on any commercial property dispute.
